Local 512 was chartered in 1950 as part of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, now SMART, the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers. Our members work province-wide in HVAC, fabrication, architectural sheet metal, manufacturing and metal roofing. From the Health Sciences Centre and Hibernia, to Terra Nova, Voisey’s Bay, Long Harbour, Hebron and Muskrat Falls, we’ve been on the tools for every one of them.
