Local 512 was chartered in 1950 as part of the Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association — now SMART, the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers. Our members work province-wide in HVAC, fabrication, architectural sheet metal, manufacturing and metal roofing. From the Health Sciences Centre and Hibernia, to Terra Nova, Voisey’s Bay, Long Harbour, Hebron and Muskrat Falls — we’ve been on the tools for every one of them.
