The Construction Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP) provides no-cost, confidential professional support for SMART members and their families. You don’t need a reason — just a desire to talk to someone.

Confidential
EFAP staff cannot share your participation or what you discuss with your employer, the local or anyone else without your written consent.
Free at point of use
There is no fee to the member. The program is funded as part of the benefit plan.
For your whole household
Spouses and dependants are covered. Calls can come from any member of your immediate family.

Depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, grief. Speak with a licensed counsellor, confidentially.
Addictions & substance use
Assessment, counselling and referral to treatment programs for alcohol, drugs and other dependencies.
Family & relationships
Couples counselling, parenting support, family conflict, separation and divorce navigation.
Financial & legal
Budgeting, debt, retirement planning, basic legal referral.
Workplace concerns
Workplace stress, conflict, harassment, return-to-work planning.
Crisis support
24/7 access for urgent concerns, including suicide intervention and acute distress.
