Training
A Red Seal is the
floor, not the ceiling.
Local 512 supports members from first-day apprentice through thirty-year journeyperson with technical upgrading, safety certifications and specialty training. Most courses are offered free or subsidized through the union and our training fund.

Contact the hall at (709) 754-1620 or smw@smwia512.ca. We’ll match you to the right course, confirm funding and arrange dates. Members in good standing receive priority.
SMART members can also register directly with the iTi for online and distance-learning courses at sheetmetal-iti.org. Some courses require your contractor and JATC coordinator to co-sign a Scholarship Loan Agreement — we can walk you through it.
